When I first got into The Black Crowes, I didn’t get the hype for Three Snakes and One Charm (1996). There were a couple of songs I liked like “Blackberry” and “(Only) Halfway to Everywhere,” but I wasn’t desperate to listen to the album whenever I had the chance. Three years later, I appreciate the vibe the Robinson brothers were going for on Three Snakes and One Charm. It’s not better than Amorica (1994), in my opinion, but there are some banging songs on this record. With all that said, let’s get on with the music!
On this episode of Rock ‘n’ Roll Tales from the Lady in Black, Lana dives into The Black Crowes’ fourth studio album, Three Snakes and One Charm. It was the band’s last studio album with guitarist Marc Ford and bassist Johnny Colt. In many ways, Three Snakes and One Charm marked the end of an era for The Black Crowes and they were never the same after this.
