Reflections on the Year 2019

From making new friends to my Disney Ohana Club’s Parks and Resorts themed banquet for Spring 2019, to new responsibilities, to Def Leppard to seeing Frozen 2 in theaters, to Star Wars, to new beginnings! As the New Year is right around the corner, I thought it’d be fun to talk about my thoughts on 2019 and what I hope for in 2020!

2019 was great because I feel like I have grown more as a person, mentally and professionally. 2019 saw a lot of changes for my Disney Ohana Club because two of our officers graduated this past May. So, the remaining officers, including myself, had to find new officers to replace them. It was a big adjustment because those two played such crucial roles in our club, and we needed to figure things out on our own without them. I had to take on more responsibility as a secretary for the club.

As crazy as it sounds, 2019 was also when I discovered Def Leppard’s music. After listening to Def Leppard’s music and hearing Rick Allen’s story, I was a changed person! I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and live life unapologetically. I made an effort to step out of my comfort zone and talk to people more. I’ve learned it doesn’t matter what people think of you because it only matters what you think of you.

During Fall 2019, I changed my major from Psychology to Communication. Everything I have focused on these past two years has changed, and I had to adjust to everything my new major had to offer. I didn’t know what to expect of the Communication classes because I was used to the Psychology classes. Also, in an attempt to make new friends in the COM major, I joined the Public Relations Student Society of America. I’ve learned so many things dealing with writing for social media, how to prepare for a job interview, elevator pitches, how to make a resume, and the different jobs you can get in the field.

As much as I am sad that 2019 is coming to an end, I am looking forward to 2020 because I will be taking more COM classes in Spring 2020, one of them is a Social Media class. I am also excited to make new memories with my clubs, and I already have some ideas for our End of Semester Banquet in the Disney Ohana Club. Let’s not forget the Stadium Tour in summer 2020, where I will get to see Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Poison, and Joan Jett live!!! So, 2020 better come soon!

For the upcoming year, I want to get back into drawing and exercising because I want to focus more on activities I love to do, and take better care of my health! I also hope to become a more considerate and kind person because despite showing improvement on some levels, I know I can do better!

What were your favorite moments from 2019, and what are you looking forward to in 2020? Let me know in the comments down below to start a conversation!

Take care and see ya real soon!
