Meet Lana

How’s it going everyone? My name is Lana Teramae and I’m from Honolulu, Hawaii. I started this blog in late 2019 to share my passion for writing and thoughts on my favorite topics, most notably music and Disney. The truth is, though, it was through this blog that I discovered how much I love writing, even more so now than I did when I started this blog. Being an introvert who’s never fit in with the popular crowd and is terrible at public speaking, writing became my outlet for sharing my story with the world.

My blog covers five main topics: Music, Disney, Movies, Shows, and Mental Status. Music is pretty self-explanatory, where I talk about my favorite artists / bands through reviews, album rankings, and listicles. My favorite band is Def Leppard because of drummer Rick Allen, whose recovery story inspired me to look at my own disabilities in a positive light. Disney is also self-explanatory, where I talk about all things Disney through reviews and listicles; there are a few Disney College Program blog posts from 2022 that are worth checking out! For Movies and Shows, you can expect reviews and rants; one of my favorite posts I’ve done is a review of a Korean BL (Boys’ Love) drama titled, Light on Me (2021). Mental Status is where I give mental health updates.

Though my favorite topic to cover on this blog is music, I can’t deny that my interests expand beyond that. Similarly, while I love hard rock and heavy metal music, I’d be lying if I said those are the only genres I listen to. I have a soft spot for pop music, when it’s done right, and boybands such as One Direction and Backstreet Boys. I also listen to Ariana Grande, JoJo, Kelly Clarkson, and Justin Bieber (when he still had the hair flip). My music posts usually rely on hard rock and heavy metal, however, I also give pop artists credit when it’s due. My logo is a skull with blue headphones because one, I’m obsessed with skulls and they represent freedom of expression, and two, the blue headphones represent my love for music. In a bizarre way, I like that my interests are all over the place because there’s something for everyone to enjoy on my blog.
